The Many Benefits of the Cross

March 1, 2008

Dearly Beloved children of the most high GOD, Greetings to you from Gentle Heart Ministries.

As we enter into another Easter Season; our hearts, and minds, once again, begin to ponder the many benefits of the Cross of Calvary.

I pray this Easter we will return to our first Love Jesus, and turn away from the many things that draw us away from our Lord. We need eye salve to heal our vision of Christ. We need the Holy Spirit to remove the causes of itching ears.  How much our Savior did for us when He died so willingly for a people who continue to walk in their own ways. Upon the Cross He carried all of our sins burdens of the world, oh how heavy was the burdens he bore.

It was all completed when he cried out it is finished.

We were given life eternal, healing for our lives and souls. Beloved there is a balm in Gilead to heal all of our hurts. He took away the keys from satan over hell, death, and the grave and made an open display of his works. He then gave to the Church the keys to the Kingdom of God. Those who come to him have been given all power, over all the power of satan.

He arose Victorious over death, hell, and the grave, He sent the Holy Spirit to lead us, and guide us into all truths. Everything we have need of can be found in the completed work of the Cross.

I have added a few scriptures and a writing I wrote about my experiences of the cross, with a Poem.  Soon it will be Spring and new growth will begin to bud forth. There are already buds on our trees, here in Wyoming. Spring is a time of renewal of all things may you find a blessed renewal as you contemplate upon the Cross of your Savior Jesus Christ.

God Bless You Abundantly, as we once again Turn our eyes towards the Cross of our great and only faith, and hope of our salvation.

When I saw him, I fell at his feet as though dead. Then he placed his right hand on me and said: "Do not be afraid. I am the First and the Last. I am the Living One; I was dead, and behold I am alive for ever and ever! And I hold the keys of death and Hades. (NIV)

The keys he gave to His Church

(Matthew 16 17-19)

Jesus replied, "Blessed are you, Simon son of Jonah, for this was not revealed to you by man, but by my Father in heaven. And I tell you that you are Peter, and on this rock I will build my church, and the gates of Hades will not overcome it. I will give you the keys of the kingdom of heaven; whatever you bind on earth will be loosed in heaven."

(ON THE CROSS HE TOOK MY PLACE)

There on the Cross He took my place
All of my sorrow, shame, and disgrace

From every sickness, and disease to be free
A poor lost sinner how he loved me

He walked the road I was meant to go
Carried the cross for my sinful woe

When I see the cross again I remember
how much
he loved each one
Moved by compassion He sent His dear son

Jesus my Savior to earth you came
For all to be redeemed in Your Holy Name

~O’ what a glorious day~
You came to show Your children the way

You came to your own to bring salvation free
All who would except Him even me

Teach us not to take for granted the price you paid
As low in the grave you laid

Jesus you arose in triumphant sound
Gave gifts to your children and mercies abound

All is provided for your very own
If we ask for bread you will not give us a stone

You have poured out the living waters of life
Delivered your children from sin and strife

(Isaiah 53:5 )

but He was wounded for our transgressions, He was bruised for our iniquities:
The chastisement for our peace was upon Him, and by His stripes we are healed.

~Do You Know Him~

When I was but a little child, folks would say to me, do you know this one, who died on Calvary?
Then my answer would always be, no I do not know Him who is He?
He is Jesus the Lamb of God, who was sent to die for thee.
For me Jesus died for me, I did not understand how can this be.
I could not understand why God, would send His Precious Son, to die for such a one as me.

As I traveled down life’s road, bent down by sins heavy load I remembered thinking, there must be more to life than this.
Perhaps there is something I have overlooked, that my eyes have missed?

When standing in my darkest hour these scenes before me began to unfold. Suddenly I remembered all that, I had ever been told.

About the savior the one, who died for me, so that from my sin to be set free.

As I stood there pondering, why He wanted to save me?
I had a vision as these scenes unfolded before me

I saw Him in the garden, as He prayed there all alone.
Sweating as if great drops of blood, praying to the Father, there in the garden all alone.

Then he said Father if it be your will let this cup pass from me.
Even so let your will be done in me, yet He drank that bitter cup for you and me.

I heard the thundering footsteps, coming down the path.
I saw Judas betray Him with a kiss, Jesus said to Judas how satan has deceived you, and led you down a grievous path.
Pray Judas pray God will deliver you from His wrath.

Then they took my Savior, and bound His hands with rope.
They placed a crown of thorns upon His brow, as I stood there shaking so. Wondering was there any more hope?

They took Him to the judgement hall of Pilate, as I followed close behind.
O’ my precious Savior the one my soul loves Please cry out for God to rescue you?
Please my Savior hear my voice please do?
Pilate said who is this you bring before me to accuse?

All the people yelled out He says, He is the King of the Jews?

He has gone about doing miracles, saying He is the Son of God.
For which one of these miracles, do you your King accuse?
Then they yelled He blasphemes, saying He is the Son of God.
We think he might be mad, His mind a bit confused?
Then Pilate asked Him, are you the King of the Jews?
My Lord answered him not a word, as evening fell in purple hues.

O’ Jesus my Jesus I kept saying, as I followed close behind.
Please Lord don’t let them take you away He did not answer me my cries were not heard that day.

Look Lord it is me I cried please do not turn away from me, and  your face to hide?
As they took him to the whipping post  on His back laid thirty-nine strokes.
That cut him to bone, my spirit became crushed, as I began to moan.
I began to cry and scream, how can you all be so mean?
They never heard my voice that day, it was as if I never walked that way.
Upon His back they laid a cross, on it was a sign that read, Jesus King of the Jews.
As the crowds began to gather they yelled, for them to crucify Him, how they yelled, and how they screamed, crucify the King.
As He walked the road to Calvary, I followed close behind, I could not believe what my eyes were seeing.
I thought I had lost my mind, how could human beings, be so unkind?

They took the hammer, and the nails and began to pound them in His hands
They mocked and scorned Him, the Roman soldier’s band
I began to scream and, I fell prostrate on the ground, as I lay there I covered my ears, to shut out the sound.
It was as if my heart stopped beating, every moment before me was fleeting.

The thunder rolled, and the lightening began to strike and shake,
the very ground below me did quake I could not move, I did not know was I asleep or awake?
The curtain in the Temple was torn from the top to the bottom.
Gross darkness covered the land, I heard a Roman soldier say surely this was the Son of God!
I lay there for a long time it seemed my body was fastened to the ground.

Then I saw the light of God, come breaking through as gentle hands reached down to lift me up, then I looked around no one else could I see.
Only the Lamb of God and I, He looked down into my eyes, and softly spoke to me.

I am Jesus the Son of God, who came to die for you.

I said I‘m so glad to meet you Jesus, I give my life to You.
As I looked into His eyes, I knew that it was true!
All my questions had been answered, by just this one view!
As He softly spoke to me, saying do not be sad My daughter, at why this had to be.
I have risen from the grave in great Victory!
Victory over Hell death and the grave!
I will give you love, and hope, for all your sorrows, eternal peace, and joy, for all your tomorrow.

A devotion of my heart, a vision given to me from the Lord.
This Vision will make a believer out of the hardest core cases of unbelief.
Thank you God!

If you would like to know Jesus as your personal Savior? Just reach out to Him, and say this prayer with me.

Dear Heavenly Father,
I acknowledge I am a sinner and that I need Jesus for my savior.
I accept the work He has done for me on Calvary, by the shedding of His blood for many.
Please come into my life and save me, wash me with your precious blood.
So that I may be saved, and covered under the precious blood of the Lamb.
Write my name in the Lambs Book of Life, Seal me with Holy Spirit of Redemption.
By faith I receive and with my mouth, confession is made of my salvation.

(Scriptures:)
(Mark 16:16)
He that believeth and, is baptized shall be saved;
but he that believeth not shall be damned.

(Romans 10:9)
That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus,
and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath
raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved.

(Ephesians 2:8)
For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves:
[it is] the gift of God:

(1 Peter 1:5)
Who are kept by the power of God through faith unto salvation
ready to be revealed in the last time.

(John 3:3)
Jesus answered and said unto him, Verily, verily, I say unto thee,
Except a man be born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God.

(Romans 1:16)
For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ:
for it is the power of God unto salvation
to every one that believeth; to the Jew first, and also to the Greek.

(Ephesians 1:13)
In whom ye also [trusted], after that ye heard the word of truth,
the gospel of your salvation: in whom also after that ye believed,
ye were sealed with that holy Spirit of promise,

(John 3:16)
"For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten son
that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life.
The greatest of all miracles is the salvation of a soul that God loved so much to sacrifice His own son for our redemption.
Speaking in tongues, prophecy, healings, talents, although they are wonderful, are all temporal blessings. The saving of a soul in Christs name is eternal, and will never pass away
In Christ's Name and Shalom, Ruthie
